Development Manager

In collaboration with the School’s Director of Development, consult with the Dean's Office, Communications department, Development and Alumni Relations teams, and other departments to develop marketing and communication strategies. Ensure completion of development-related tasks including creation of electronic and printed publicity/stewardship materials and communications, and the planning of meetings. Write and edit development publicity/stewardship materials for donors and collaborate with the Communications department to ensure message and communication consistency. Write solicitation appeals for special funds and thank you letters updating donors on what has been accomplished. Manage strategies to increase donor and alumni participation. Identify and cultivate annual fund prospects and work with the Director of Development to develop the end of year appeal.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years relevant professional level experience, including experience in interacting with important donors, and writing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in a fast-paced academic or nonprofit academic environment, especially in development or public relations.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated organizational and excellent writing skills. Proven ability to problem solve, adapt quickly, and deal with highly charged situations and individuals sensitively.
