Summary of Duties:

The purpose of the Development Coordinator is to support the Advancement Office’s fundraising and external relations goals within the College of Medicine. Duties include coordinating with the WSU Foundation and Director of Annual Giving, Health Sciences to implement a variety of annual giving strategies.
Duties include: assist with donor and alumni engagement events for the College of Medicine; identify and cultivate relationships with specified individuals and corporations for sponsorship support; coordinate with applicable parties to request data, mailing lists, and reports; support scholarship awarding and stewardship; and perform other administrative support activities such as preparing written correspondence, reports, and presentations, scheduling, processing gifts, and making travel arrangements.
The position will represent the university and college to internal and external constituents and remain apprised of university policies and protocols and advise on their application where appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work evenings, and weekends, and to travel.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by the time of hire and maintain, a driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated computer capabilities and familiarity with spreadsheets and database systems and willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with health care organizations and foundations.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently, but within a collaborative team environment, and ability to establish priorities and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep accurate records and completely timely reports and maintain confidentiality of proprietary data.

Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 - 5,397.56; commensurate with qualifications

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
