Summary of Duties:


Coordinate the development and implementation of fundraising activities to meet the unit’s goal. Organize and implement special events; solicit financial support and sponsorships from individuals and/or corporations; foster alumni and friends relationships and provide related support functions. Provide excellent communications and service to internal and external constituents including, but not limited to faculty, staff, donors, friends, stakeholders, etc. Support the development activities of the VDAR team and Dean as needed. Represent  the University to internal and external constituents. Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Demonstrated and significant proficiency and computer skills in Word, Excel, Access Database, and similar applications. 

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to manage several different projects or tasks simultaneously. 

  • Ability to think independently and logically, and maintain confidentiality at all times. 

  • Demonstrated experience in working in an environment requiring confidentiality, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity. 

  • Documented proficiency in writing and editing skills. 

  • Strong organizational skills. 

  • Ability to communicate and maintain a harmonious working relationship with a wide diversity of people both within and outside the college and university.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and decorum when dealing with College constituents; external audiences, and university community.

  • Valid driver’s license. 

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. 

  • Ability to travel to special events as needed. 

  • Authorization to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of university operations, policies, and procedures. 

  • Knowledge of specialized record-keeping and database management.
