The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, Office of Advancement, seeks a talented and experienced Development Coordinator to join the Business Intelligence and Operations team. Reporting to the Associate Dean of External Affairs for Strategy and Innovation, the Development Coordinator will provide data-informed solutions for a variety of stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, support, coordination, and execution of multiple short-term and long-term fundraising projects and operational support as assigned
  • Work independently and collaboratively to collect, analyze, and update various types of advancement information and reporting formats
  • Effectively use donor database (Salesforce) and other information sources to identify, research, analyze, and produce deliverables for various stakeholders and audience types
  • Conduct timely, relevant, and accurate information research and analysis using a variety of systems and tools (Excel, Tableau, Salesforce, Cognos, etc.)
  • Evaluate and analyze advancement data across various systems to generate actionable insights, recommendations, and program enhancements
  • Build, test, validate, and document processes, reports, and cross-training materials
  • Serve as a program liaison for various university departments as needed.

  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, summarize, and present a variety of advancement information to various audiences
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality of information management in a dynamic and high-performing team
  • Collaborative work style with the ability to also work as independently, take initiative, and set priorities while being flexible in a dynamic and team-based environment
  • Provide high-quality work deliverables and foster continuous process improvement
  • Passion to learn, innovate, and execute sustainable business solutions

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 or more years of relevant work experience, 1 of which are in advancement operations or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education
  • Project support with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completion within a dynamic, fast-paced, and team-based environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CRM database systems, prospect development, constituent research, and information management
  • Proficiency with reporting tools including but not limited to Excel, Tableau, or Cognos
  • Exceptional ability to simultaneously, effectively, and efficiently support, coordinate, and execute multiple projects of variable complexity
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills in both verbal and written form
  • Experience in thinking strategically, creatively, and independently
  • Positive attitude with a commitment and passion for problem-solving, program impact, and continuous process improvement


Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Experience: 3 years

Preferred field of expertise: Directly related experience in a university environment with knowledge of university fundraising, systems, polices, and procedures preferred.
