Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Affairs for the Kornberg School of Dentistry the Development Associate will assist with all alumni relations and fundraising activities planned by the school throughout the year. Primary responsibilities will be to assist in advancing the communication and marketing to dental alumni using all platforms (direct e-mail, newsletters, social media etc.) to increase alumni participation and engagement, to plan and execute multiple alumni and donor engagement events, both locally and nationally, and serve a concierge for dental alumni to arrange for visits, and assist in local logistics when visiting the school. In addition, the Development Associate will create and manage comprehensive alumni outreach strategies with the sole purpose of communicating and engaging alumni, and to be a helpful resource for alumni and the Temple Dental Alumni Association. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 2 years related experience that includes working in a highly visible service-focused environment preferably in higher education, including experience with writing, proofreading, planning strategic communications, planning communication resources, and project management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Ability to work nights/weekends/early mornings.

*Ability to write succinctly to professional dentists or other healthcare providers.

*Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, including advanced database skills.

*Demonstrated familiarity with (or, willingness to learn and be trained in) Banner, Constant *Contact, Cognos and FPM reporting functions.

*Working knowledge (or, willingness to learn and be trained in) Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, *InDesign, Canva or other basic graphic design tools.

*Demonstrated expertise in manipulating data and producing reports.

*Demonstrated organizational skills, along with the ability to multi-task and successfully complete projects with competing deadlines.

*Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading skills.

*Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse constituent population.

*Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented.

*Ability to prepare brochures using graphics software.

This position requires a background check.
