The Michigan Medicine Office of Development is seeking a full-time receptionist/administrative assistant who will provide a professional and welcoming atmosphere at the front desk and administrative support to the office. This position will work onsite and will have occasional opportunities for remote work.

Responsibilities*
  • Provide general receptionist and office support
  • Manage the reception desk backup schedule for lunch, vacation, and sick coverage.
  • Support maintenance of office equipment, supplies, and facility issues.
  • Coordinate office-wide external events as requested, including transportation, venue, refreshments, and invitations.
  • Backup support for the Associate Vice President office as needed.
  • Provide assistance with processing donations received by the Gift Finance team 
  • Attend monthly team meetings and weekly planning sessions with Medical Education and Alumni Relations team.
  • Assist with appointment calendaring and various other projects with Alumni Relations team.
  • Responsible for other projects and duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*
  • At least two years of office support/receptionist experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • Extremely punctual and reliable, proactive, and responsible.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet challenging and changing deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.).
  • Must be a self-motivated, highly dependable independent worker with the ability to prioritize work frequent interruptions and problem solve efficiently and effectively without direct supervision.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
  • Discretion and the ability to interact with top-tier donors while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Superb attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications*
  • An associate degree in a related field.
  • Familiarity with University of Michigan and the Michigan Medicine organizational structure.

Work Locations

The onsite location for this position is in the 777 Building. This provides free, on-site parking for staff. This position works onsite with remote work opportunities based on the business needs of the unit.


Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
