Job Summary
This role is responsible for designing, developing debugging, customization, documentation and supporting application solutions and re-engineered components based on client requirements. Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, designing and modifying PeopleSoft modules and building integration to a multitude of ancillary systems to meet user needs and enhance processes.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience or associate’s degree and 4 years of related experience or high school diploma and 6 years of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in computing or information systems and eight years of progressively responsible computer programming and analysis experience
  • 5 -7 years of experience working as Financial Technical Developer
  • 6 years of experience using PeopleSoft development tools including PeopleCode, App Designer, PSQuery, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker, App Engine, Workflow and Approval Framework, XMLP, etc.
  • 6 years’ experience developing and customizing PeopleSoft objects including Components, Pages, Records, Application Engines, Component Interfaces and PeopleCode
  • 5 to 8 years working experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.1 and FSCM 9.2 including Hands on experience to support various financial modules such as: Asset Management, General Ledger, Billing & Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Commitment Control, Procurement, Supplier Contracts, Strategic Sourcing, eSupplier, Grants Management, Project Costing and Travel & Expense, Treasury.
  • 6+ years extensive experience in with PeopleTools 8.5x (Application designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Application Messaging, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Workflow and Approval Framework, Component Interface, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more of the following software and tools: SQL Developer, PS Query, SQR, Oracle SQL, XML Publisher, Vision
  • Experience in a higher education information technology environment
  • 5+ years of PeopleTools experience, current experience with version 8.56+
  • Hands-on experience with technical development in one or more PeopleSoft applications with emphasis in Financials (Campus Solutions, Portal/Interaction Hub, Human Capital Management) and developing integrations with PeopleSoft and non -PeopleSoft Applications or third-party systems such as Jaggaer, CONCUR, TouchNet and similar Student and other financial systems
  • Experience in developing interfaces to 3rd party systems such as Jaggaer, CONCUR TouchNet and similar Student and other financial systems; Human Resources and Campus Solutions
  • Extensive experience with PeopleSoft Fluid interface; Approval frame works and work centers
  • Experience with Cherwell or other ITSM tools
  • Experience using Quest STAT or Phire version control/change management tool

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Provide technical and functional expertise and support in an Oracle environment
  • Develop and maintain PeopleSoft applications, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, ongoing maintenance, and the resolution of system issues.
  • Develop strong relationships with end users to effectively troubleshoot problems and recommend good solutions
  • Work with end users to define scope of business needs and translate processes from detailed functional requirements to technical design specifications
  • Design, code, and unit test complex projects
  • Develop and maintain integrations between PeopleSoft FSCM and other applications
  • Identify developmental or design risks and action plans
  • Assist with system upgrades and prepare data mapping for conversion requirement
  • Acquire new skills and knowledge to stay at the forefront of information systems tools for PeopleSoft and software quality assurance
  • Ability to know and follow standard operating procedures
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
70%   Contribute independent subject matter expertise and execution of assigned tasks including:
  • Analysis, planning, design, development, testing, debugging, and production support of PeopleSoft applications
  • Provides technical support for PeopleSoft applications within the Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) 9.1 and/ or 9.2 system(s)
  • Full software system life cycle support of PeopleSoft Financials, Supply Chain and Portal including system design analysis, programming, testing, and production support
  • Creates technical specifications, process flows and/or related design documents
  • Create Dashboards, Work Centers, and developing additional enhancements using Fluid User Interface technology

15%   Collaborate and share knowledge Including:
  • This individual will work with the PeopleSoft SA/DBA on performance tuning, enhancements, maintenance patches, and production support
  • Interface with functional analysts as well as with technical resources (other developers, DBAs, PS Admin, Windows Admin, Security Admin, etc.) on enhancements and troubleshooting issues

10%   Contribute knowledge and process improvement including:
  • Adhere to high-quality development standards and best practices
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment and possess the flexibility/adaptability to changing requirements.

  • Position location will be discussed during the interview process. Location can be Fort Worth, TX or Richardson, TX.
  • Hybrid remote work environment available. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Must have the ability to be on Richardson campus with 48 hours of notice.
  • Will work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Uses standard office equipment. 
  • Requires occasional evening or weekend hours.
