 Job Summary:   

The Developer/Analyst for Langston University is responsible for developing reports, performing systems administration tasks, providing desktop support, and delivering excellent customer service. This position will also support general IT needs of the University.

Key Responsibilities:
•            Design, code, and maintain computer programs and scripts for data analysis, reporting, and business systems
•            Perform routine systems administration tasks such as user account management, security updates, backup procedures, configurations etc.
•            Troubleshoot basic desktop support issues including printer, email, browser problems
•            Provide outstanding customer service in responding to user requests and questions
•            Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes through technology
•            Assist with other general IT needs including, but not limited to, desktop, network, and sever configuration and deployment, general troubleshooting, software installation and configuration, and computer/lab imaging and management.

•            Other duties as assigned.

Required Degree:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience:
2+ years of information technology administration or information technology management experience.
•            Strong SQL querying skills
•            Familiarity gathering requirements and administering systems and software applications
•            Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•            Technical help desk or customer support experience
•            Creative problem-solving skills

Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses:

In addition to the knowledge required to perform the major responsibilities, a successful individual will possess the ability to develop and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; must exhibit the ability to handle difficult situations; must operate with professional standards of confidentiality, honesty, and commitment.

Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Periodically this position requires work after normal working hours and requires continual availability by cellular device. A cellular device will be provided, or additional income provided to compensate for use of personal device.
This position may be required to be in an on-call/standby status for after hours and weekend emergencies.

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Telecommunications Management, Business Administration, or related area.

Experience: Information technology experience in higher education.
