Purpose

To provide campus and district level desktop support to teachers, staff, and administrators.


General Notes

This entry-level position will be based out of Methodist Children’s Home in Waco, Texas and provides computer and peripheral end-user support and services to the teachers, staff and administrators of The University of Texas Charter School System. Responsibilities include responding to ticket requests, imaging, encrypting and configuring computers for deployment, diagnosing and repairing laptops and other hardware, troubleshooting software and campus site visits.


Responsibilities

Provide computer desktop end-user support and services to Methodist Children’s Home and 5 campuses located in Fort Worth, Cleburne, Forney, Arlington and Belton, Texas. (Reliable vehicle required, mileage reimbursement provided at state rate). Job duties include:

  • Triage new request in the Incident IQ ticketing system
  • Drive to 4 remote campuses to assist teachers, staff and administrators with computer and network issues as well as the main business office in Austin, Texas.
  • Image, encrypt and configure laptops and desktops for deployment
  • Diagnose and repair laptop, desktop, Chromebook and printer hardware (replace laptop screens, batteries, keyboards, RAM, hard drives and other internal components)
  • Simple network troubleshooting and network equipment configuration
  • Maintain accurate inventory database records in Incident IQ asset management system
  • Change passwords, move user accounts & computers in Active Directory
  • Assist with web filtering administration and troubleshooting through the Content Keeper portal
  • Assist users with Xerox copier issues
  • Troubleshoot audio/visual equipment in classrooms
  • Decommission/pull hard drives from surplus devices such as laptops, desktops and Chromebooks.
  • Drive to main business office once a month for training, meetings, pick up and return equipment


Required Qualifications

This is an entry level position requiring a highly motivated individual with the ability to take initiative. Excellent communication skills. 1+ Year experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 10 based systems. 1+ Year Experience troubleshooting, installing and configuring various software titles including Microsoft Office applications. Basic knowledge of and/or experience with Microsoft Office 365. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams. Experience assisting users with various technologies including printers, projectors, document cameras and copy machines. Knowledge and/or experience using Bitlocker encryption and imaging process. Ability to work in a team setting as well as individually without direct supervision. Possess motivation, analytic abilities, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, resourcefulness and a sincere desire to help others. Have an eagerness to learn while on the job and develop skills in a fast-paced working environment. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Salary Range

$33,000 + depending on qualifications


Working Conditions

Work on concurrent projects under pressure of rigid deadlines and/or time limitations. Office out of Waco, Texas while working closely with teammates virtually via Microsoft Teams. Must have reliable vehicle and be willing to drive to multiple campuses within Texas. May require occasional extended work hours resulting in comp time.
