The School of Medicine’s Dean’s Office, IT Shared Services has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Desktop Support Analyst position.

Nature of Work:

This position will be a member of a team that is responsible for providing desktop information technology support for departments within the School of Medicine. This position will provide support for approximately 400 users including faculty, staff, and students within assigned departments/divisions. The Desktop Support Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining personal computers and local area network (LAN).
  • Troubleshooting networks, systems, and applications in order to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
  • Interacting with users to determine problems, analyze situations, identify the source of the problems, determine appropriate solutions and take proper actions required to solve the problems.
  • Performing a variety of maintenance, evaluation, and training tasks to ensure optimal computer performance and user experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing desktop/network support.
  • Experience working with a wide range of computer network systems including Windows servers and networking applications.
  • Experience providing technical training and support to users.


  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $50,000 to $55,000.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
