What You Will Do
The DET-3 supply chain management team provides the necessary support to the Detonator Production Agency to achieve excellence. Each professional in this role utilizes a wide range of skill sets and capabilities to provide a comprehensive supply chain operation. The Production Control Specialist 2 will function in a role that consults with engineering staff in the development of weapons program related items procurement packages; works with engineering staff and DET-3 planning resources on the development and maintenance of bill of materials (BOM); collaborates with the supply chain management team in developing strong vendor relations; works to establish supply chain efficiencies and process improvements in coordination with production control planning and manufacturing processes.
The selected candidate will report to the Detonator Production, Operations Support (DET-3) Group Leader within the Detonator Production Division (DET) that is a part of the Associate Laboratory Directorate Weapons Production (ALDWP) and serve as a procurement professional for weapons program related items. ALDWP mission assignments involve explosive materials, science, technology and weapons components. In addition to procurement activities, DET-3 manages production control; packaging and transportation (P&T); operations management software programming; production scheduling; classified and HE parts inventory operations; as well as other support functions for detonator research and development fabrication, and war reserve (WR) production operations to enable detonator manufacturing in support of the national defense missions.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or business management discipline, from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five years practical work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
