Physical Requirements
Lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50lbs.Long periods of standing. Working with heavy machinery and equipment commonly found in wood shop, metal shop, and textile fabrication settings.
Shift
Monday-Friday; 9:30am – 6:00pm (40 hours/week); hours may vary depending on facility use, some nights and/or weekends
Job Summary
The College of Design, Design Technology Specialist provides ongoing technical, operational, and occasional administrative support for all design technology services and facilities in the College. Under the guidance of the Fabrication Lab Manager this position coordinates resources to ensure availability of digital output facilities, advising faculty, students, and other College constituents of best practices and safety compliance related to the operation of design fabrication technology hardware and software, as well as digital and analog output machinery and tools. Additionally, this position coordinates with staff peers and supervisors to deliver uninterrupted services with a commitment to customer service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a record of fabrication proficiency to include digital and analog methods of making, as well as the ability to support and promote successful operations in a dynamic environment.
