The Department of Periodontics, Division of Dental Hygiene 

The Department of Periodontics, Division of Dental Hygiene at the UT San Antonio, School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a faculty position for our Laredo Office. The position will focus on providing laboratory, clinical and didactic instruction for dental hygiene students.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene or related field required and Master’s preferred.

  • Graduate of a CODA-approved dental hygiene program or Dental School

  • Must be a license registered dental hygienist with the state of Texas

  • Must have at least six years of clinical experience

  •  Educational experience, preferred but not required

Job responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering instruction in clinical, laboratory, and didactic settings

  • Serving as a professional role model for students

  • Assist with the coordination of clinical activities and student schedules

  • Participate in departmental meetings, including faculty development

The position entails clinical and practical teaching and course administration and instruction. The department employs multiple teaching methods including case-based instruction, large-and small-group discussion, clinical, lecture, demonstration, and simulation.
