The Digital Strategist and Website Administrator will oversee the digital marketing ecosystem for Duke Learning Innovation and Lifetime Education (LILE). This includes strategy and implementation for a number of websites, social media platforms, and other digital assets, as well as content management for our digital platforms.

Website management

  • Incorporate SEO best practices and stay apprised of changes and trends
  • Understand e-commerce trends in web design and user behavior, and how they might apply to lifetime education offerings
  • Understand accessibility requirements and best practices and how to apply them to our digital ecosystem
  • Create and apply basic design and branding and basic edits to website CSS
  • Build webpages or microsites for one-off events and initiatives, using existing templates and platforms
  • Have and apply general knowledge of UX best practices 

Content management

  • Website content updates (perform minor updates upon request from programs and other staff, plan and write webpage copy and blog posts, produce basic images and design choices using a tool like Canva)
  • Manage content calendar( s) for a variety of digital channels, and project manage the contributions from team members
  • Basic multimedia content production (create short videos for use on website and social platforms)
  • Maintain a unified voice and tone across platforms and channels.

Digital Strategy

  • Manage multiple websites and understand how they fit together and support unique learner and instructor audiences
  • Understand how social media and other platforms interact and integrate with our websites
  • Work closely with marketing and enrollment management staff to provide a continuous and seamless experience for prospective learners
  • Integrate websites and other digital platforms with related Duke and LILE technology, including CRM and registration management platform (DestinyOne)
  • Develop and implement our social media strategy
  • Work with Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications on an overall digital strategy and the development of a global digital brand (including a new website)

Digital marketing and advertising

  • Support the marketing team with digital ad campaigns as needed
  • Track marketing analytics and enable tracking codes (e.g. Google Tag Manager)

 
Minimum Qualifications
Education

BA or BS in journalism, marketing, English, graphic design or related field.


Experience

A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience is required. Graphic experience or background preferred. Proficiency with PC-based environment in all Microsoft Office products, HTML, Dreamweaver, Java Script, Acrobat, and some type of image editing product (Photoshop, etc.).


Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

BA or BS in journalism, marketing, English, graphic design or related field.
