Description:

The Department Information Supervisor (DIS) will coordinate the information resource and processing functions of the department, actively monitoring efficiency and staffing productivity. The DIS will effectively and independently monitor information processing functions for the department including staffing resource allocation, establishment of work standards, determination of work priorities, and problem solving. This position will report to the department director.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the communication, operation and departmental information handling process, to ensure prompt and accurate institutional information is provided to staff and leadership.
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate daily activities of assigned staff within the department.
  • Establish and maintain training manual of the department’s standard operating procedures.
  • Effectively and independently monitor information processing functions for the department including staffing resource allocation, establishment of work standards, determination of work priorities, and problem solving.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Any one or combination totaling five (5) years (60 months) from the categories below:

A. College coursework in business administration, operations management, or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

  • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
  • Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
  • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)

B. Progressively responsible work experience requiring supervising, organizing, and coordinating work programs, and responsibility for the performance of those supervised.
