Major Duties
Under general supervision of the Business Law Department Chair, the Department Coordinator provides administrative support to the Department of the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics (DNCBE), and serves as a resource person for the Department Chair, faculty, and students. The incumbent implements office procedures and manages office workflow, plans, organizes, coordinates, and addresses problems proactively, frequently handles multiple projects and priorities, and provides budgetary support to the Department Chair and DFO.
- Tracks department expenditures and reconciles department funds, orders supplies, equipment, and services, including the use of online chargebacks and requisitions.
- Monitors financial and foundation account reports for accuracy and currency, helps prepare the schedule of classes each semester, manages the Department websites, and assists with faculty recruitment.
- Schedules meetings and appointments, helps maintain confidential files, processes faculty personnel documents, oversees graduate and undergraduate assistants and their payroll and manages student evaluations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible administrative or technical office management experience in an administrative capacity exercising independent judgment and leading the work of others.
- Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or job-related fields may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Thorough mastery of: office methods, procedures, and practices; and correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems.
- Ability and specialized skills to: prepare letters, memos, and reports; transcribe minutes; make travel arrangements; analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions; apply judgment, discretion, and initiative in establishing priorities, providing follow-up and quality control.
- Ability to use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist; understand problems from a broader perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations; operate standard office equipment and software.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

- Classification: Administrative Support Coordinator / 1035 / 2
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3,865 - $4,200 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3,865 - $6,336 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
- This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
- The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
