The College of Dentistry, Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology & Medicine is looking for a Monday - Friday, 8 - 5:00pm Radiology Technologist to provide leadership for clinical radiology units including oversight of operational activities of students to ensure the smooth operation of the digital radiography activities while providing exceptional patient care! Responsibilities:

· Oversee all digital radiography activities, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective measures as necessary.

· Review and approve radiograph images in PACS system, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

· Perform various radiographic exams with minimum radiation dose, including Cone Bean Computed Tomography, Chest, and Abdomen radiographs.

· Educate and train faculty and staff on proper positioning, radiology techniques, policies, and procedures.

· Participate in the interview and evaluation of potential residents for oral maxillofacial radiology.

· Resolve patient-related issues by effectively communicating with College of Dentistry faculty and staff.

· Manage Dosimeter badges and coordinate with the EHS office.

· Collaborate with clerks and dental assistant to regulate patient flow.

· Communicate with patients regarding their treatment plans.

· Assist in clinical instruction and evaluations of students and ancillary personnel.

· Manage and oversee student rotations in Radiology clerkship.

· Coordinate clinical radiology experiences for students from outside community colleges.

· Participate in digital imaging committee meetings.

· Manage the implementation of new equipment and provide training to employees.

· Resolve patient-related issues by effectively communicating with College of Dentistry faculty and staff.

· Oversee equipment maintenance and qualify assurance procedures in radiology.

Salary: $57,314 to commensurate (Pay Grade: 4A)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

May require occasional work outside normal business hours.

Work Location: On-Site

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, or equivalent combination of relevant education and relevant experience.

· 1 year work experience as a radiologic technologist.

· Current/valid license as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the State of Iowa.

· Current/valid American Heart Association BLS (CPR) certification.

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

HIGHLY Desirable:

· Experience in CT/CBCT and/or Chest/Abdomen Radiography.

· Dosimeter monitoring experience.

Desirable:

· Knowledge, understanding, and adherence to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

· Demonstrated ability to facilitate positive outcomes by collaborating and working in a team environment.

· Knowledge if dental/medical procedures/terminology.

· Extensive knowledge of electronic health information systems.
