Dental Patient Treatment Coordinator

USC's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry is looking for a talented Dental Patient Treatment Coordinator to join the Clinical Affairs, Special Patients Team!

This department will need a team oriented individual who is able to manage a heavy work load and multi-task constantly. The department is very busy and fast-paced, we need a candidate who manages stress well and can keep a positive perspective. A bilingual English and Spanish speaker with a Dental background is preferred. This individual will be working with Students, Faculty and Patients simultaneously.

Candidate will need to have experience working with patients with special needs, like those in the Special Patients Clinic. A Dental Assistant is preferred to help support with back clinic if needed.

Job Accountabilities:

The Dental Patient Treatment Coordinator performs a variety of tasks associated with the dental management system, such as patient registration, insurance authorization and/or verification, and patient scheduling. Works closely with patients and dentists to arrange comprehensive treatment planning. Schedules patient appointments and monitors patient flow.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree

Preferred Experience: 3 years

Preferred Expertise: Knowledge of dental management software, particularly axiUm. Experience working with basic contracts. Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly word, Excel PowerPoint and outlook. Fluent bilingual English and Spanish speaker.

The hourly rate range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00. Minimum Education: High school or equivalent Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Demonstrated experience in dental management and dental secretarial assistance. Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal customer service, and telephone skills. Demonstrated ability to multi-task. Working knowledge of dental terminology and PPO and Denti-Cal and health insurance. Ability to work scheduled evening and weekend shifts. Demonstrated team-oriented and collaborative work style. Demonstrated experience in a high volume, fast paced environment.
