The College of Dentistry is looking for a Dental Hygienist to serve as a member of the Periodontics team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. What you need to know
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.
Please note: This is a part-time position with scheduled hours of 16 hours a week.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Three years of related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of technical and clinical aspects of dental hygiene, dental equipment, periodontal disease processes, and other oral diseases

  • Knowledge of statistical evaluation techniques, scientific writing, and scientific research

  • Knowledge of equipment, materials, standardized procedures, and recent developments in dental hygiene

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Licensing / Professional Certification:

  • Licensed Dental Hygienist.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and prepares oral prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and other preventive services for patients.

  • Applies current knowledge of technical and clinical aspects of dental hygiene when treating each patient.

  • Provides education to patients on preventive and oral health care.

  • Completes oral screenings and assessments of new patients and develops oral care plans.

  • Reviews patient histories for proper precautions and records medical treatments in patient charts.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
