Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Dental Comprehensive Care Coordinator for the Office for Clinical Affairs within the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM).
The individual in this position coordinates and implements patient care within their assigned Group Practice. The Dental Comprehensive Care Coordinator compares patient care activities against established quality standards and reports results.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Directly coordinates patient care with students, faculty, and clerical support staff.
  • Counsels students in patient, staff and peer problems and interaction.
  • Develops patient’s payment plans, as directed.
  • Interviews all new patients as part of Admission process, collects necessary screening data. Conducts patient surveys as directed.
  • Records screening data, and complies statistical information on patient care. Submits in reports form as required.
  • Enters appointment requests in Axium, and is responsible for maintaining appointment book within their assigned Group Practice.
  • Advise/assist students regarding unapproved treatment reports, missing charges, and other student related reports in Axium.
  • Responsible for monitoring recall reports and sending recall letters to patients on a monthly basis. Attends and assists GPA in the administration of monthly group meetings.
  • Audits clinic charts and records for completeness and accuracy. Assist faculty in formal record audits.
  • Counsels patients in regards to time commitment and transportation services, senior citizens prerogatives, the dental education process and financial status.
  • Refers patients to various areas to expedite treatment, i.e. financial counselors, Clinical Affairs, etc. Monitors the treatment of patients as to timeline and continuous care.
  • Prepares data in regards to satisfaction of clinic responsibilities and adherences to clinic standard policies.
  • Assists in processing requests for assignment, transfer, referral, recall and inactivation.
  • Assists the GPA with overseeing the dental students on a daily basis for attendance/punctuality and clinical activities.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Associate Degree in Psychology, Sociology or a related field plus (1) year of related dental patient relations/community relations experience.
  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
