Position Summary

This position is designed to fill demands for staffing needs to cover Dental Assistant absences and the increased needs in clinical areas for Chairside Dental Assistants throughout the entire dental center.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform dental assistant duties including set-up, assist using 4-handed technics, break-down, and disinfection of rooms/surfaces. 
  • Properly expose, process and mount digital x-rays. 
  • Accurately chart and document using the EHR. 
  • Compliance to OSHA and infection control guidelines. 
  • Compliance to HIPAA guidelines. 
  • Assist in other departments including Dispensary and Radiology, at all locations, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

  • Requirements

      

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Mandatory: Graduate of a dental assisting program that includes State of Michigan Radiology certificate.
    • Current certification in CPR/BLS, or obtainable within 30 days of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications

    CDA or RDA


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Basic knowledge of all aspects of chairside dental assisting.


    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to move freely throughout the clinics.


    Work Environment  

    Typical large dental clinic environment.


    Licenses/Certifications

    Mandatory State of Michigan Radiology Certificate or comparable.


    Salary/Pay Information

    Commensurate with experience


    Anticipated Schedule  

    Days and times may vary, but never more than   29 hours per week.
