Posting Summary
The Dean of The Rutgers School of Nursing reports directly to The Chancellor of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and acts as the chief academic and administrative officer. The Dean has primary responsibility for personnel, general administration and management, budget, academic and training, research and clinical care provided by the School in Newark, New Brunswick, and Blackwood, New Jersey campuses.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
-PhD or DNP in nursing and eligibility for licensure as an RN in NJ
-Progressive leadership experience, preferably in a large, complex, and high-performing academic healthcare setting. Ideally in the role of dean, associate or vice dean, department chair, or equivalent leadership position
-Distinguished record of effective, strong, and collaborative leadership experience in a nursing school or analogous organization
-A history of promoting and developing shared governance between faculty and administration
-The capacity to formulate and articulate a shared vision, to persuade a wide range of audiences of its value, and to engage others in its implementation
-Ability to recruit outstanding new faculty as well as retain the School’s strongest faculty
-Ideally a track record of extramural funding or the knowledge to support such endeavors
-Significant academic credentials, including a strong track record of success in research and international reputation
-Scholarly accomplishments in the field of nursing, as well as recognition as evidenced by involvement in societies and/or associations at a national and/or international level, especially at the leadership level
-Record of outstanding personal scholarship and achievement consistent with the rank of tenured full professor
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Outstanding human relations and leadership skills
-The ability to function in a unionized environment is required
-Experience with philanthropic efforts, ideally those specific to nursing

Immunization Requirements
