Job Description:

Position Summary

The Dean of the McEniry School of Business, Education, and Humanities reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and is the academic officer charged with supervision overall departments and disciplines of the school, including overall responsibility for the curriculum and academic quality. As an academic officer, the Dean assumes a university-wide perspective and a strategic role in communication with the university's constituents including parents, perspective students, potential donors, industry, government, professional societies, and alumni.

Responsibilities:

• Create a vision and strategic plan for the School and develop methods to ensure progression towards both short-term and long-range goals.
• Coordinate the academic programs relative to university core requirements, requirements for majors within the School, and accreditation;
• Recruit, supervise, develop, and evaluate the school's faculty and staff;
• Coordinate and supervise the activities of the Chairs and Program Directors, serving as their primary evaluator;
• Supervise the school's budget and facilities, and advise the VPAA on annual and long- range budgeting;
• In consultation with the CBU Office of Advancement, play an active role in university and school fundraising;
• Provide administrative support for enrollment management and retention initiatives;
• Maintain a high public profile, interacting with local, regional, and national businesses, educational institutions, and organizations to leverage strategic partnerships, initiatives, collaborations, and internships;
• Promote innovation and entrepreneurism among faculty to advance new programs and opportunities for our students and provide new revenue streams into the School of Business;
• Exercise compassionate and Lasallian-inspired leadership while building upon the University's commitment to foster academic excellence and prepare students from all faiths and backgrounds for careers and lives of faith, service, and community
• Display active support for the Universities mission.
• Duties as assigned by the Vice President.

Requirements:

Doctorate degree in the field of Business from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years administrative experience at the level of dean, department chair, director of a graduate program, or higher.

• A proven record of scholarship, professional development, and excellence in teaching.
• Ability to balance and support the diverse needs of students in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Preferred Experience:

• Record of successful fundraising
• Practical understanding of strategic planning
• Familiarity with AACSB or ACBSP accreditation processes
• Experience working, consulting, or record of other professional interactions within the business community.
• Experience in working collaboratively with Education and Humanities programs.
