POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Senior Business Systems Analyst, the database analyst is responsible for creating or maintaining queries in PeopleSoft to extract data for use in data pipelines and reporting requests. The role will assist in the coordination and monitoring of the design, development, modification and implementation of student record systems within the University.

DUTIES & WORK PERFORMED: 

Student Information Systems (PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content and related systems): 55%

Assist in the implementation of new or existing workflow/webservices processes for school administrative offices, (e.g., Academic Affairs, Finance, Graduate Student Affairs, Admissions, Dean’s Office, and Liberal Studies).

Participate in planning with SISS, Registrar, OIT personnel, and other offices as needed to ensure smooth operation of graduate student PeopleSoft modules and assist in troubleshooting of issues.

Serve as a technical resource to TGS staff, graduate programs, and other SISS data-related personnel working in administrative offices.

Assist with PeopleSoft upgrades, including training of staff, revision of existing queries and reports, testing changes and enhancements, etc.

Data Queries and Reports: 35%
Create and modify parameter-driven reports in an enterprise reporting platform to extract data related to admissions, enrollment, student records and financial reporting.

Provide consultation and training sessions to report users.

Other Duties: 10%

Ensure that external and internal regulations and policies governing data management are met including regulations concerning security, auditability and privacy.

Serve as backup for the Graduate School network administrator in maintaining computer hardware and office equipment.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires a bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, or a computer related field or the equivalent coursework or technical training.

Experience

Work requires 2 years of progressive programming or database OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE administration experience to include design, implementation, tuning, backup, recovery, modification and reorganization of relational databases for a complex computer network.
