Summary:

Bryant & Stratton College has an opening for an experienced Database Administrator to join the Systems Office Information Technology department.  This position is responsible for several databases, feeds to and from them, and the ongoing development of at enterprise data warehouse.  This position is a terrific opportunity for an experienced DBA to put their stamp on the processes and structure of the database environment within a growing College.  With a large number of College wide interactions, the ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills.  Detailed understanding of data warehousing methodologies and best practices is a must for the successful candidate.

Position Status: Exempt

Work Hours:  Mon–Fri, 8am-5pm. Hours may vary for project needs. Saturdays and secondary holidays may be a scheduled workday. Limited travel may be required.

Reports To: IT Director

Location: Orchard Park NY, any B&SC Campus, or Hybrid/Remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage databases in a hybrid environment
  • Plan and implement data platform resources on Azure and on-prem; monitor, configure, and optimize database resources on Azure and on-prem
  • Implement a secure environment for a database service
  • Configure and manage automation of database tasks
  • Ensure database security, integrity, stability, and system availability

Qualifications:

  • Cloud Database Administrator
  • Azure Cloud experience including strong SQL
  • Hands on Experience with Azure Data Factory
  • Ability to implement and manage aspects of cloud-native and hybrid data platform solutions built with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure Data Services
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases and PL/SQL a plus
  • Familiar with Synapse databases.
  • Strong MSQL, AZURE, Managed instances from AZURE.

Experience and Education Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.

Salary Range: 

$85,000 to $95,000 per year

The selected candidate’s actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
