Job Summary:

Health Data Compass (Compass) is the technology innovation arm of the Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine, CU’s banner initiative to improve patient health through the science of personalized medicine. Our team is implementing a data integration and analytics platform on cutting-edge, cloud-based technologies to support biomedical research and clinical excellence throughout the CU research enterprise and our hospital partners.  

The Data Product Manager (DPM) will execute data projects in collaboration with the Data Services Program Director to help realize the Compass strategic vision.  The DPM will help review and modify policies and procedures focused on current and planned data delivery and data management protocols. The DPM will contribute to data quality and continuous improvement efforts to support Compass services including the enterprise data warehouse and analytics platform. The Data Product Manager will perform a variety of tasks including writing, reviewing, contributing, and providing feedback to requirements, writing documentation, and data visualization activities to ensure Compass cloud-based solutions are reliable and innovative. 

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Contribute and lead efforts to build, maintain, and document core data marts among team of staff.
  • Research, justify, document, and implement solutions/tools to help realize the Compass strategic vision.
  • Evaluate, improve, and document data and service line workflows.
  • Manage, design, and develop automation activities, including creating dashboards for internal and external use, monitoring technical performance and data quality of data integration and data delivery services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Administration, Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Science, Biological or Health Sciences, Mathematics or related field
  • 5 or more years working within healthcare environments (e.g. hospital, payor, academic medical center) in IT role(s).

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or doctorate degree in security administration, information systems, information security, computer science, biological or health sciences, law, or related field.
  • Extensive experience developing SQL code.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving bugs related to data accuracy, usability, and performance issues.
  • Experience using the Epic Caboodle data model.
  • Experience leveraging Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics’ Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $85,000 to $105,000.  

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
