Since the creation of NC AHEC Program in 1972, NC AHEC has helped meet the state's health and health workforce needs. The NC AHEC Program is a network of nine (9) regional education centers (AHECs) representing all 100 counties in NC. The NC AHEC Program Office at UNC-Chapel Hill works with 9 AHECs, Duke AHEC Program Office, and partners with NC academic medical centers/schools, health professions programs, community colleges, other private educational institutions, hospital systems and health departments and more than 1,400 medical practices in the state.Mission: The NC AHEC Program provides and supports educational activities and services with a focus on primary care in rural communities and those with less access to resources to recruit, train, and retain the workforce needed to create a healthy North Carolina.Vision: We envision a state where everyone in North Carolina is healthy and supported by an appropriate and well-trained health workforce that reflects the communities it serves.Since the creation of NC AHEC Program in 1972, NC AHEC has helped meet the state's health and health workforce needs. The NC AHEC Program Office at UNC-Chapel Hill works with 9 AHECs, Duke AHEC Program Office, and partners with NC academic medical centers/schools, health professions programs, community colleges, other private educational institutions, hospital systems and health departments and more than 1,400 medical practices in the state.Within the NC AHEC Program, the Statewide Information Technology team is charged with providing robust technical solutions to support common processes across the AHEC system that are accessed by AHEC staff as well as consumers of AHEC services. By employing a combination of internally developed systems and integrations with commercial services, Statewide IT provides applications for all AHEC service lines as well as controlled access for regional IT staffers working at our 9 regional AHECs. The Statewide IT team also serves as primary data managers for a variety of programmatic data used throughout the system. This unit works closely with other Program Office leadership to contribute to business planning and evaluation to support automation and business processes to meet the mission of the organization.As part of the Statewide IT team, the Data and Analytics Specialist will develop familiarity with all existing data repositories, providing leadership to keep data accessible, current, and actionable. The Data and Analytics Specialist will manage the Tableau Online portal for the statewide program. Additionally, the Data and Analytics Specialist will work closely with AHEC stakeholders across all service lines to explore collected data and facilitate easier access to that data for decision making. As new initiatives are pursued, the Data and Analytics Specialist will work with stakeholders to identify appropriate metrics to measure progress and efficacy of programs. The Data and Analytics Specialist will also serve as the primary aggregator and conduit for reporting data for our Health Careers programs.  
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in mathematics, computer science, information technology, information science, statistics, or a closely related field. A bachelors' degree with 4 years of experience can be substituted for master's degree. Additional technology certifications favorable but not a substitute for experience.Preferred candidates would have:* At least 4 years of progressive work experience in data extraction and analysis* Experience with Tableau's Data Management toolsPreferred candidates would also be experienced in one or more of the following areas:* Federal grant reporting* Health population data analysis* Experience working with SalesForce-based data sources* Experience extracting data from SQL-based data resources* Creation and management of programmatic evaluation instruments using Qualtrics, Alchemer, or a similar software.Master's or Bachelors and 0-2 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
