Job Summary
 

The Data Analyst is an integral part of Chicago Booth’s MBA Programs unit, serving as the data and business systems expert. In partnership with leadership, they will formulate, define, and scope a data strategy to help drive the short and long-term goals of Booth’s Full-Time, Evening, and Weekend MBA Programs. This individual has lead responsibility for data reporting and data mining, as well as system and reporting requirements, performance analysis, data integrity, and compliance. The Data Analyst works closely with the Operations, Marketing, Events, and Evaluation teams to interpret and enhance the use of data to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles analytical and statistical reports using CRM (Slate) tools, Adobe Analytics, and Tableau. Reviews information for accuracy, reconciles data on a regular basis, identifies data trends, and makes recommendations across the full-life cycle of application processes.
  • Works in consultation with admissions teams to manage data collection in Slate, including volunteer, prospective student, and applicant databases. Integrates relevant external data sources, including Adobe Analytics and/or third-party survey data.
  • Plays the lead role in developing dashboards, status reports, and population profiles, as well as ad hoc and year-over-year report analysis. Develops predictive models, provides strategic recommendations, and creates central repository and processes for departmental reporting.
  • Creates data reports at the request of the leadership team and Dean’s Office, as needed.
  • Serves as an internal consultant for developing queries, reports, and best practices in Slate.
  • Develops close working relationships with other Slate/data experts throughout the School to collaborate and lead data initiatives for Chicago Booth.
  • Develops and maintains system processes as needed. Manages adoption of relevant technology and platform updates, anticipates issues/challenges, and establishes best-in-class workflows and data infrastructure.
  • Incorporates data-driven methods around the collection of qualitative and quantitative data (ie: event evaluations, persona modeling, engagement scoring, journey-mapping, etc.).
  • Serves as the MBA Program lead to Data Warehouse, Chicago Booth Tableau, Slate users group.
  • Analyzes moderately complex data sets for the purpose of extracting and purposefully using applicable information.
  • Provides professional support to staff or faculty members in defining the project and applying principals of data science in manipulation, statistical applications, programming, analysis and modeling.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

  • Proficiency in CRM databases.
  • Expertise in SQL and advanced Excel skills.
  • Coding fluency in Javascript, XSLT, HTML, and Tableau.
