Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Data Analyst for the Institute of Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. The Rutgers Neuropsychology Laboratory (PI: Michelle Chen, PhD) is seeking a skilled data analyst interested in brain health, digital technology, and advanced analytics. The data analyst will participate in several research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other agencies. Current projects include predicting Long Covid symptoms using a wearable device and developing speech biomarkers for cognitive impairment/dementia.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Data management and analysis as well as assisting the principal investigator in preparing manuscripts and grant proposals.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in a related field, including statistics, data science, computer science, psychology, neuropsychology, neuroscience, and public health.
  • Three years of experience with data analytics.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of and experience with advanced statistical approaches such as multilevel modeling and structural equation modeling.
  • Knowledge of and experience with advanced data science approaches, such as signal processing, machine learning, and natural language processing.
  • Experience with big data, such as wearable sensor data and electronic health care records
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in R and Python.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and be able work collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Microsoft Office and software packages using R or Python.

Immunization Requirements
