Job Summary: The Data Analyst I gathers, audits, analyzes, and reports low- to moderate-complexity data under general supervision. Ensures data integrity. May perform ad-hoc analyses and reporting to inform decision-making, or design predictive modeling or other data mining capabilities.


Additional Department Summary: The West Alabama Cardiovascular Health (WACH) Program is designed to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease events (heart attacks and stroke) in a nine-county region of West Alabama.

The Data Analyst I will have the following responsibilities:

• Perform statistical analyses and write reports; assist with program evaluation
• Program data (surveys and health data) management and data cleaning
• Assist with survey and experimental design to ensure all required data are collected for evaluation and support program researchers
• Program surveys/assessments in RedCap and training staff to use RedCap for data collection
• Other related duties as assigned by the program evaluator or principal investigator


Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with extensive experience in research methods and statistics. Experience using SAS, RedCap, and other statistical software.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in statistics with training in research methods.
