The Center for Family and Community Engagement (CFACE) is a public service and research center at North Carolina State University that strives to build safe, healthy and productive families and communities. The Center fosters family-community-academic partnerships that are relevant and responsive to families and communities. The Center builds these partnerships by supporting community engagement, offering training and technical assistance, and providing evaluation and research services. The Center works with interdisciplinary partners on the local, national, and global levels to improve family and community health and well-being. The North Carolina Child Welfare Family Leadership Model, a grant-funded program by the North Carolina Division of Social Services, is a framework for how state and local child welfare agencies can engage and support individuals receiving services, develop them as full partners in all aspects of service delivery, and ultimately, utilize family and youth voice – on an ongoing basis – to systematically improve services.
Essential Job Duties

This position will engage with state and community partners, contribute to family engagement efforts, and influence child welfare policies and practices. This involves outreach and education efforts to public and private child-placing agencies, community partners, and youth organizations.
You will oversee the dissemination of the CWFAC model by developing and sharing products, presentations, reports, articles, and managing the council’s social media and web presence. Collecting and interpreting evaluative data is crucial to continuously improving these efforts. Your role also includes serving as a liaison between CFACE and various agencies, providing technical assistance, and documenting engagement interactions. Active participation in professional development activities, including training and workshops, is essential to stay informed about the latest research, policies, and practices in child welfare.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide coaching and technical assistance on family engagement and Model fidelity, while documenting all engagement interactions and supporting regional and county outreach efforts.
  • Schedule and develop content for CWFAC meetings, ensuring all meeting records are maintained and materials are distributed efficiently.

  • Track member participation and provide necessary support and expertise
  • Manage social media and web presence.
  • Actively participate in Center initiatives, staff meetings, training, and events.

Through these activities, you will foster strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring collaborative efforts to enhance family engagement and support within the child welfare system. If you are interested in helping to create a lasting impact on the well-being of children and families in North Carolina, we encourage you to apply.
