Department Summary

The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. It is the steadfast goal of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to provide the most outstanding student-athlete experience by helping them to achieve excellence, both in the classroom and in their chosen sport. The department has approximately 250 academic & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.


Position Summary

Performs a wide variety of routine custodial and labor tasks primarily at the Hatfield Dowlin Complex; when necessary provides event support for athletic and non-athletic activities/events.

The schedule is flexible and changes based on needs of football operations activities & events.
Valid driver's license required.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:
• Physical demands include overhead work on ladders, heavy lifting, stair climbing, bending, stretching, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, extensive walking on hard smooth finishes as well as uneven surfaces and prolonged periods of exertion.
• Work conditions may be in noisy areas, inclement weather, and dimly lit space.
• Work may require the clean-up of bodily fluids.

Essential Personnel:
Weather/natural conditions change rapidly in the Pacific Northwest. As a result of this, there are certain personnel who are considered required at all times to maintain the continuity of critical operations and business during and after a disaster or natural event. This position is one of those required positions necessitating that the employee makes every reasonable effort to arrive at the campus at their regularly scheduled times unless otherwise notified by their supervisor. Essential personnel must provide reliable and current contact information at all times.


Minimum Requirements

• One year of work experience providing a service-type function (customer service, custodial service, etc.) in a reliable and consistent manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• More than one year (1) Custodial experience in a facility >100k square feet.
• Event set up and break down experience.
• One (1) year or more using floor cleaning equipment/floor care.
