Student Housing and Dining Services (SHDS) is a self-supporting auxiliary that provides housing and dining services to approximately 15,000 undergraduate, graduate, and students with families who live in on-campus residential facilities (university owner/managed and Public-Private-Partnerships), as well as providing residential, retail and catering dining services for the campus community. Job Summary Under the daily supervisor of third-party hotel management, responsible for being primary owner of all in-house cleaning and maintenance. Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents and/or floors with cleaning agents by extending arms over head to reach all above areas. Utilize required chemicals to perform cleaning tasks; following all established chemical safety procedures and guidelines. Thoroughly clean and polish all metal, stone, and wood surfaces, applying pressure in repeated motion. Support in the depositing of dirtied linens into proper receptacle. Assist with set-up and break-down of meeting spaces. Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly, bending and stooping as needed. Push and pull vacuum and wet-mop throughout hotel; including but not limited to meeting rooms, hallways, lobby, dining area, common bathrooms, etc. Maintain cleanliness and safety of entrances to hotel, pool deck, and fitness center. Clean common area windows. Empty interior trash bins, cleaning and replacing as necessary. Deposit facility trash into exterior trash receptacles. Clean ashtrays and other exterior surfaces as needed. Mop, clean and disinfect restrooms; ensuring attention to detail in areas including but not limited to grout, tile, drains, etc. Maintain full houseperson or laundry cart; ensure stock levels at beginning and end of shift. Push/pull houseperson or laundry cart to necessary locations, requiring up to 40lbs of force. POSITION INFORMATION
