Job Summary
Eastern Washington University is currently seeking a team-oriented, positive leader to supervise staff performing Custodial duties in assigned areas.
A custodial supervisor is responsible for overseeing the work of a team of custodians. They are tasked with ensuring that their employees are performing their jobs effectively and efficiently, as well as providing guidance where necessary.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on frequent basis and carry up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-placement physical.
  • This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. Required Qualifications
  • One to two years’ experience supervising or directing others in large-scale housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance or custodial work
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Physical ability to do the job.
  • Previous cleaning or custodial experience
  • Must be able to work different shifts and days
  • Must be able to read, write and understand written documents
  • Basic Microsoft Office experience including Word, Excel and experience using an email system
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity

Specific Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have prior cleaning or custodial experience.
  • Must be able to work different shifts and days.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand written documents.
