Typical schedules for Custodians are:

  • An overnight schedule; typically Sunday/Monday-Thursday/Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM or 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM depending on business needs.

  • A day schedule; typically Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM or 6:00 AM - 2:30 AM depending on business needs.

Summary of Duties: Perform custodial tasks to maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and care of facilities within an assigned area.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Area Coverage Cleaning/Sanitizing & Trash/Recycle Dusting & Detailed Cleaning: 45%
  • Floor Care: 40%
  • Windows & Lighting, Entries, Event Setup/Move Furniture & Equipment : 10%
  • Other: 5%

May work in cold or hot temperatures while performing duties outside. ​

Required Qualifications: Minimum age of 18.

Additional Requirements:

  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work an overnight shift.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and proven ability to read and write. 
  • Six months of custodial experience.

Monthly Salary: Range 32, $2,805 to $3,700 , Step A-M (salary range effective July 1, 2023)

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
