The Opportunity:

Provides support to facilities department in relation to building operations, maintenance, space access and setup for classes and events, and surplus, keys, and golf cart usage.

Responsibilities:

  • Support staff for the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) with a wide range of duties, most of which are manual labor.
  • Event set-up, tear-down, facility management and maintenance. Includes arrangement of tables, chairs, pipe & drape, staging, bleachers, multi-media equipment and other items associated with events.
  • Daily supervision of Education Complex (ED) Gymnasium is the primary responsibility. However, the TA, MIRC and MFRI buildings comprise the CCIE Facilities in our immediate domain and so we support programming in those areas as well.
  • Monitoring, detailing and general maintenance of these facilities as assigned.
  • Assist Physical Education department with equipment and set-up for instructional purposes.
  • Operate equipment checkout and maintain inventory of all facility-related property.
  • Set-up and tear down for varsity athletic practices including cheer, dance, basketball, volleyball, etc.
  • Support staff for CCIE. Duties may include office moves inside and outside of college; equipment assembly; furniture installation; set-ups for classes, workshops, conferences; pick-ups and deliveries; golf cart usage; recycling; spatial planning, etc.
  • Other duties that are related to the facilities and the use of them that may arise.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of 9th grade and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) .   

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in facilities or closely related field for at least two years.
  • Good written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to multitask and set priorities.
  • The ability to work independently and with others.
