LILLY FAMILY SCHOOL OF PHILANT (IN-CPHL-IUINA)

The Fund Raising School (TFRS) offers public courses and customized training designed to bolster the fundraising efforts of professionals, board members, and volunteers in the nonprofit sector. Our alumni meet or exceed their fundraising goals at a rate higher than the national average due to in-depth curriculum informed by leading-edge research from the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Public courses are taught in-person in Indianapolis as well as other cities across the United States, while custom training is delivered at the locations of partnering organizations around the world. The Fund Raising School also has a strong online presence via virtual and asynchronous courses as well as through quarterly webinars and a weekly podcast. 

 

We are currently searching for a Curriculum Development Specialist who is experienced in writing course materials for adult learners. Our professional development course offerings include 22 courses and 4 certificates, which are offered in-person and on-line. This position will work with a team and also in close coordination with the Associate Director of Curriculum Development, TFRS and the Sr. Assistant Dean for External Relations.

General Responsibilities

  • In coordination with educational leadership, faculty, and/or staff, designs curriculum for students, courses, degree programs, or schools.
  • Consults with faculty to determine curricular needs and identify gaps; creates course objectives and outcomes to reach targeted learning.
  • Reviews proposals to modify existing course curriculum and create new courses; ensures accuracy of information and determines whether proposal aligns with standards and objectives for the course.
  • Assists with preparation and dissemination of course materials, such as course syllabi, textbook selection, course packs, and other related materials.
  • Performs evaluation and assessment activities, ensuring consistency across purview, including observation of courses, preparation of course evaluation results, development of reports and outcomes for accreditation review, and analysis of feedback from faculty regarding curricular outcomes.
  • Manages curriculum mapping process.
  • May make process recommendations to manager for improved operational efficiency.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.  

 

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. 

Preferred

  • Master's degree. 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2years in related field. 

Preferred 

  • Experience writing curriculum for adult learners.
  • Experience in writing professional development courses.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. This position is eligible for remote work or to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.  

$55,000 - $65,000 per year based on experience. 

Normal office hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
