Job Description Summary:
The Coordinator for Curriculum reports to the SON Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs. The position supports faculty requests as specified by the Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs, ensures departmental efficiency and effectiveness, and oversees documentation pertaining to course schedules and timetables. The incumbent works with key internal and external constituencies as required and serves as a key member of the administrative team for Academic and Faculty Affairs.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in education, management, communications, nursing, or related field. A combination of education and relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year for year basis.

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role.

  • Experience with project management, including managing multiple competing projects and shifting priorities in a timely manner.

  • Excellent communication as evidenced by application materials.

 

Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in education, management, communications, nursing or related field.

Work Experience:

  • Prior employee management experience.

  • Prior administration experience in an office of academic affairs.

  • Experience using Enroll & Pay.

Skills:

  • Ability to respond rapidly to changing technology and apply leading edge technology to business needs.

  • Ability to use leadership skills to proactively problem-solve in a team environment.

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

 

Job Duties

  • Manages daily operations and administrative functions of the Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs related to course schedules and timetables, including but not limited to modifying class schedules and course listings, student credit posting, classroom and testing center requests, course permissions, and maintenance of the official course descriptions and syllabi.

  • Collaborates with Academic and Faculty Affairs team to develop, revise, and implement office policies and procedures. Is the main contact and support for EBI/Skyfactor data, ExamSoft, and EvaluationKit (Course Evaluations).

  • Data Collection, Analysis and Support to assist in SON data maintenance, special requests, and preparation of reports as necessary including accreditation reports, Kansas State Board of Nursing reports, etc.

  • Collaborates with Specialty area Coordinators, Program Directors, Assistant and Associate Deans, and various committees to track issues across all programs and address compliance with standards, improve quality outcomes and support innovation.

  • Assists with reviewing the SON Academic and Faculty Affairs content on the SON website and recommends updates to web manager.

  • Staffs committee meetings and follows up on actionable items. Manages ad-hoc faculty requests for assistance.

  • Functions as NEXus Staff Coordinator.

    • Reviews SON website information related to NEXus and recommends updates to web manager.

    • Responds to inquiries from faculty and students, with referrals as needed.

    • Assists students with admission and enrollment processes for NEXus courses.

    • Attends annual meetings with NEXus Faculty Coordinator, as needed.

  • Completes special projects as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
