The primary responsibilities of the Registrar’s Office include creating, maintaining, and updating student records and registration details, as well as course scheduling, academic room scheduling, transfer credit evaluation, degree audit, and reporting in service to the campus and its constituents.

The Curriculum and Catalog Specialist exists to maintain the data integrity of CU Denver’s curriculum management services including the course inventory, class scheduling, degree and program records, and the University catalog.

The work for this position requires a high level of attention to detail and will include assessing, synthesizing and integrating knowledge and information, providing communication and customer service for internal and external constituents, and enforcing policies and procedures.

Curriculum & Catalog Specialist

What you will do:

  • Review and process course and program edits in the CourseLeaf (CAT) catalog and (CIM) curriculum information management software.
  • Create and maintain term class schedules.
  • Analyze courses and class schedules to verify compliance with policies, guidelines and/or procedures.
  • Generate appropriate requests for missing or incorrect information and ensure data is corrected promptly.
  • Create, update, and test all course prerequisites, corequisites, and restrictions.
  • Review and approve individual catalog edits made by catalog editors.
  • Assist with training sessions each term for the course coordinators.
  • Provide one-on-one training as needed.
  • Create and maintain internal and external standard operating procedure documents and training materials. 
  • Diagnose issues with the CU-SIS Curriculum Management module and CourseLeaf software by testing scenarios in a test environment. 
  • Perform testing of software upgrades for the CU-SIS Curriculum Management module. 

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $41,802 - $45,000.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  Substitution: A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience working in an office setting.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience with databases and data entry
  • Customer service experience that includes either internal or external constituents

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service skills.

  Conditions of Employment

  • Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required. The Registrar’s Office supports the Commencement Ceremony on Saturdays two times per year.
  • This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely up to two days per week, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
