CEMML is a research, education, and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at CSU

and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical

Position Summary
The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) seeks to hire a Cultural Resources Technician with combined training or experience in architectural history or historic preservation to support an on-going project to inventory historic buildings and structures.
Position Minimum Qualifications
·         BS/BA in architectural history, historic preservation, history, cultural resources management,            or a related field (CD, PA).
·         Must demonstrate a solid background in architectural history (CD, CT).
·         Must be proficient with Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and Access (DP).
·         Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and resourceful (PA,             C, CT).
·         Must be adaptable and comfortable working both collaboratively and independently (IT,                     V/WC).
Preferred Qualifications
·         Master’s Degree (or currently enrolled in a graduate degree program) in architectural history,            historic preservation, history, cultural resources management, or a closely related field. 
·         Experience conducting historic building inventories, including fieldwork and archival                            research. 
·         Familiarity with creating SHPO site forms.
·         Experience using ESRI ArcGIS is highly desirable.

Essential Job Duties

Duty/Responsibility
The Cultural Resources Technician will assist in the research and development of an inventory and assessment of historic buildings and structures at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and other duties as assigned.  Assignments include, but are not limited to: completing Idaho State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) site forms using Microsoft Access, resizing photograph digital files, creating site maps, contributing to the inventory reports, and conducting documentary research. The position may include travel to the INL to conduct field work and archival research.
