CSU Health Network The CSU Health Network at Colorado State University provides a full range of cost-effective mental health and primary care medical services on campus, referral for community specialty care, and comprehensive health education and prevention services programming. Services such as physical therapy, dentistry, and optometry are available. The CSU Health Network is active in creating a healthy campus environment to support learning and success. Facilities and Custodial Services The Facilities and Custodial Services department at the CSU Health Network is responsible for maintaining sanitary facilities to facilitate the delivery of care. The department is responsible for daily terminal cleaning, spill cleanup, waste management, and grounds assistance, in addition to special projects that arise on an annual basis. Exterior facility management may include snow removal on sidewalks, minor bush trimming, window washing, and patio maintenance. This department provides ample opportunity for student workers. The Facilities department is open between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Position Summary
The Custodian I position is critical in providing a clean and sanitary environment by performing housekeeping, cleaning, repairs, painting, and waste collection services in all buildings and areas of the CSU Health Network.
 
 This position is benefits-eligible, works 20 hours a week Monday – Friday, and generally work a 4-hour schedule between the hours of 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. These hours may vary slightly between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. depending on business needs.
 
This position is considered State Classified, part-time “Hourly”, which means there are no guaranteed hours and the schedule may range from 0-40 per week. 
This position reports to the Facilities and Custodial Services Manager. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Six months of custodial/cleaning experience in a commercial/business environment (e.g. medical office, hospital, university, office building, retail building, restaurant, hotel, etc.).

  • Experience providing custodial services in a medical environment

  •  Experience with the operation and use of vacuum cleaners, buffers, shampoo machines, wet/dry vacuums, waxers, floor scrubbing and/or polishing machines, stripping, waxing, buffing, and/or other related cleaning operations

Essential Job Duties

Clean and maintain building interiors, following sanitary standards: 
* Wash, wipe, dust, scrub, scour, disinfect, vacuum, sweep, mop, buff, and polish surfaces, floors, walls, windows, blinds, lavatories, mirrors, furnishings, and fabric
 
 
Deep Cleaning: 
* Strip and wax hard floors 
* Shampoo carpets and upholstery
 
 
Exterior: 
* Remove snow from CSU Health Network exterior ground surfaces as back-up support to CSU Facilities, as needed 
* Spread various products on exterior ground surfaces to de-ice to prevent staff, patients, and visitors from falling
 
 
Laundry: 
* Collect soiled laundry in the Health Network and sort/prepare for delivery to off-site service 
* Fold and put away clean laundry
