Job Summary/Basic Functions

Seeking EKU Summer Institutional Work Study Camp Counselors for the Summer 2024 EKU CSTEM Camp, June 2-7, 2024.
The 5-day residential camp, June 2-7, 2024, provides rising high school junior and senior campers with a preview of life as a college student. They participate in hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematical (STEM) activities, meet with a variety of University representatives, and take part in fun team-building projects.
Camp Counselors will report to the Camp Director. Responsibilities include: supervision of assigned high school level campers and assisting with all evening activities. Must be available to live on-campus with campers during the camp week of Jun 2-7th.
Must be eligible for Summer session Institutional Work Study and a current EKU student. Must be 18 years of age or older and complete a background check for working with minors. Prefer candidates that have experience working with high school students. Shifts will vary, depending on INWS qualifications and shift availability. Position pays a $350 stipend.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications: Must be enrolled at EKU. Must be eligible for EKU Summer Institutional Work Study. Must be 18 years of age or older and complete a background check for working with minors. Must be available to live on-campus with campers during the camp week of Jun 2-7th.

 

Job Duties:

  • 25% - Camp Preparations - (Essential)
  • 65% - Camper Supervision - (Essential)
  • 10% - Program facilitation - (Essential)

Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
