Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Crisis Response Training Research Assistant- School of Social Work at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

The Crisis Training Research Assistant will support the efforts of the Behavioral Health Crisis Training program. May provide specialized knowledge of coagulated to support participants successfully completing training and to update stakeholders and funders on workforce development.

Provide data collection, coagulation, and develop reports to funders and stakeholders.

Conduct research and stay updated on developments in crisis intervention techniques and strategies, sharing relevant information with trainers and participants.

Assist trainers in delivering crisis intervention training programs, including coordinating logistics, preparing training materials, and setting up training rooms.

Provide administrative support to trainers, including scheduling training sessions, managing participant registrations, and maintaining training records.

Communicate and provide support to training participants. Assist Synchronous training.

Respond to inquiries from participants and provide guidance and support on training-related matters.

Coordinate and communicate with participants, ensuring they have all the necessary information and resources for the training sessions.

Provide support to program manager, instructors, training specialist and director.

Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback and other assessment methods, making recommendations for improvement.

Collaborate with trainers to develop and update training materials, ensuring they are accurate, relevant, and aligned with best practices in crisis intervention.

Liaison with Continuing Education and Centralized Marketing department.

Transcribe and follow up on activities of calls, meeting, and stakeholder groups.

Schedule, confirm and coordinate in person training.

Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Bachelor’s degree in a social science (social work, psychology, criminal justice, or urban studies) or equivalent experience. Preferred experience working on social science research projects.

Experience: Entry level (less than a year of job-related experience)

Prior experience in crisis intervention or mental health services is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of criminal justice and community mental health systems. (i.e. terminology, processes, goals, and outcomes).

Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation strategies.

Proficiency with a variety of computer programs (including Microsoft, Excel and Work, PowerPoint, Canvas)

Ability to learn computer applications quickly.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to effectively interface with training participants and community partners.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with trainers, participants, and stakeholders.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
