Credentialing Specialist (Project Management Coordinator)

DENTISTRY-FINANCIAL AFFAIRS (IN-DSFA-IUINA)

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, monitors, and maintains all aspects of the credentialing and re-credentialing process. 
  • Collects the necessary documentation needed to credential newly hired providers and re-credential existing providers. 
  • Prepares credentialing applications and submits the required paperwork to ensure the providers are credentialed in a timely manner.
  • Maintains location and provider participation information and credentialing effective dates. 
  • Tracks provider enrollment applications and updates internal systems/databases. 
  • Tracks license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals.
  • Works directly with insurance companies to correct provider participation issues and respond to any inquiries. 
  • Works closely with Director of Revenue Cycle and the billing staff to identify and resolve any denials or authorization issues related to provider credentialing.
  • Completes contracting/re-contracting applications and agreements for new locations and added lines of business within existing locations.
  • Tracks and submits incident reports for patients.

General Responsibilities

  • Coordinates support for project management activities, resource allocation, and communication.
  • Develops a schedule designed to meet necessary deadlines and communicates with team members.
  • Monitors project progress and handles moderately complex issues that arise.
  • Ensures projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams with varying levels of seniority and experience to support various programs.
  • Performs a variety of administrative skills and prepares correspondence related to the project.
  • Maintains a detailed, organized file and records system.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED). 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Excellent collaboration and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. $32,531.00 - $40,102.00 per year based on experience.
