Job Details | CREATIVE LEAD Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the Creative Lead position within University Marketing and Communication. The Creative Lead will help shape and execute the university’s overall visual brand identity and graphic design strategies. The Creative Lead will also manage a team of graphic designers and partner with creatives university-wide to ensure consistency and excellence in the development and execution of creative strategy. A successful candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge in the following areas: · General and higher education marketing, branding, and graphic design best practices and trends. · Navigating large, complex organizations. A successful candidate must demonstrate abilities in the following areas: · Leadership concepts. · Understanding and implementing design principles and concepts including iconography, composition, typography, font theory, and color theory. · Developing style guides to ensure consistent brand representation. · Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex design challenges. Ability to receive and deliver constructive critique in a manner that is professional and respectful. · Coordinating collaborative creative meetings and creating clear channels for idea sharing and peer critique. · Planning and ideation; managing the project process from start to finish. A successful candidate must possess the following: · Exceptional project and time management skills. · Attention to detail and a strong focus on visual continuity and quality assurance. · Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity and respect for individual and situational needs. · Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to providing timely and quality work as part of a university-wide community. · Strong planning and problem-solving skills with adaptability in changing circumstances. · Excellent presentation skills. · Advanced knowledge of and abilities within Adobe Creative Suite. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Promoting and contributing to brand consistency. · Fostering strong relationships. · Exhibiting sound judgement with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving. · Working closely with our marketing and communication teams to develop compelling and engaging visual content that communicates the institution’s mission and values and effectively engages target audiences. · Serving as a creative consultant for colleges and units campus-wide with the goal of elevating the quality of work produced and aligning output with the university’s visual brand identity standards. · Strong planning and problem-solving skills with adaptability in changing circumstances. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years of experience leading a creative team and experience developing brand guidelines are required. At least three (3) years of experience leading a creative team, preferably in a higher education or agency setting is preferred. Experience utilizing project management software and experience in photography, video production, and editing are a plus. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. |
