At Research and Development in the College of Education & Human Development, we assist in the development and submission of research proposals, coordinate award documentation and manage post-award financial activities. We provide workshops for faculty and graduate students on grant submission, grant-seeking, and create compelling, competitive proposals. What we want

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate, to join our highly accredited college. This individual will be responsible for conducting social and behavioral science research projects in Public Health Genomics, Cancer Prevention, and Health Disparities (please refer to hpg.tamu.edu to learn about the research work in the Health Promotion and Genomics Lab.). Major duties include: literature review, study design, survey and interview questions development, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, manuscripts/reports writing, student worker supervision, and working with the Project Director (Dr. Lei-Shih Chen) for coordinating and managing relevant projects as well as performing other duties as assigned. Required Education:

  • Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data collection, management, and analysis skills

  • Excellent scientific writing skills

  • Excellent computer abilities and language skills in English

  • Excellent communication skills and be able to work as a team player

  • Detailed-oriented and patient

  • Possess good time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Education:

  • PhD in public health, health education, psychology, sociology, education, anthropology, or related fields

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in grant management and having prior work experience in grant-funded projects

  • Publish at least two peer-reviewed articles

Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection - Manage and analyze data gathered for research projects. Conduct social and behavioral science research projects in Public Health Genomics, Cancer. Prevention, and/or health disparities (please refer to hpg.tamu.edu to learn about the research work in the Health Promotion and Genomics Lab.)   
  • Writing Duties - Write manuscripts, abstracts, and reports related to research project.
  • Coordinatio n Duties - Coordinate and manage tasks and time line associated with research project. Perform other duties as assigned.
