Specifically this Postdoctoral Research Associate will focus on conducting social and behavioral science research projects. Major duties include: literature review, study design, survey and interview questions development, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, manuscripts/reports writing, student worker supervision, and working with the Project Director (Dr. Lei-Shih Chen) for coordinating and managing relevant projects as well as performing other duties as assigned. Required Education:

  • Appropriate PhD.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data collection, management, and analysis skills.

  • Excellent scientific writing skills.

  • Excellent computer abilities and language skills in English.

  • Excellent communication skills and be able to work as a team player.

  • Detailed-oriented and patient.

  • Possess good time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education:

  • PhD in public health, health education, psychology, sociology, education, anthropology, or related fields.  ​

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in grant management and having prior work experience in grant-funded projects.

  • Published at least two peer-reviewed articles.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection - Managing and analyzing data gathered for research projects. Conducting social and behavioral science research projects in Public Health Genomics, Cancer Prevention, and/or health disparities (please refer to hpg.tamu.edu to learn about the research work in the Health Promotion and Genomics Lab.).

  • Writing Duties - Writing manuscripts, abstracts, and reports related to research project.

  • Coordination Duties - Coordinating and managing tasks and time line associated with research project.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.
