This position assesses threats posed by intelligence collection activities of foreign powers or entities and international terrorist activities. The Office of Counterintelligence (OCI) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) works in conjunction with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence to safeguard our national security. In this role you would contribute to our mission by:
All source strategic and tactical research, analysis and writing, to include the production of finished assessments and raw reports
Collection, analysis and documentation of information pertinent to investigations, inquiries, assessments, and insider threat and awareness briefings
Due diligence in support of proposed international agreements and supply chain risk management;
Collaboration across OCI components, with other components of the LANL Field Intelligence Element, and with other LANL personnel as appropriate
Extensive collaboration with DOE IN and other DOE Counterintelligence Field Offices and extensive liaison to the FBI and other US Intelligence Community members, to include representing OCI on various working groups
Intelligence briefings/ presentations to laboratory personnel ad DOE seniors which may inform/impact DOE policy throughout the department.

To succeed in this role you will need to have the following qualifications:
US Intelligence Community Experience
To succeed you will need extensive US intelligence community experience and familiarity with seminal intelligence community policy (e.g., EO 12333, PDD 61) and an understanding of U.S. intelligence and counterintelligence organizations and roles.
In this position you will need a vocational ethic that evinces a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and independent work. You will also need experience in conducting analytical projects and providing analytical services and demonstrated experience with intelligence analysis methods. Knowledge of global political, economic, social, cultural, scientific, fiscal, and military conditions to evaluate information in light of the current geopolitical environment is also a prerequisite.
To succeed in this position you will need demonstrated experience giving intelligence briefings to decision makers at all levels.
You will need to have the ability to foster teamwork and the ability to interact professionally across LANL, with DOE IN and other DOE Counterintelligence Field Offices, and with liaison partners. You must also be able to represent OCI on various working groups and have strong literary skills and clarity of speech.
Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.
In addition to the minimum requirements it would be a bonus if you had some of the qualifications below:
It would be a plus if you had familiarity with the DOE Counterintelligence/Counterterrorism Program and knowledge of foreign intelligence service methods and of non-traditional foreign intelligence collection.
It would be a bonus if you had derivative classifier certification. Upon joining OCI, a successful candidate not already a derivative classifier must acquire certification as soon as feasible.
Proficiency in a critical foreign language.
We would prefer someone who has an active Q clearance and SCI accesses and/or the ability to obtain those clearances expeditiously upon hire.

Clearance: Q/SCI (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
for access to classified matter.
Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the one year of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.Please refer to Laboratory Policy P701 for applicant eligibility requirements.
