The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Counselor, EOPS, De Anza College.
The Foothill - De Anza Community College District does not have a remote work policy. All employees are expected to be available to work in person and on-site per the requirement of the department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Reporting to the Dean of Student Development and EOPS/CARE, this position functions as a key member of the EOPS support team to provide academic, career and personal counseling services to EOPS eligible students in determining and achieving academic, vocational, and personal objectives. Assist students in clarifying academic goals and selecting a major and establishing/maintaining enrollment priority. Develop and implement orientation, activities, services, and facilitate and instruct study skills and career decision-making classes. Take students on field trips to career, leadership and enrichment events and conferences. Develop other relevant liaisons and networks with on- and off-campus programs and agencies. Implement intake and follow-up procedures for students for the program. Participate in outreach functions that may include serving as a liaison with high schools, community-based organizations, and four-year colleges/universities.
The successful candidate will utilize intervention and retention strategies to ensure student success. Establish an effective rapport with students; monitor and track students' academic progress to ensure attainment of educational goal; maintain contact with students throughout their enrollment; and use an early alert system to ensure student persistence and success. Serve as liaison with other student services, instructional divisions, and programs on campus. Refer students as appropriate to campus and community resources and services. Maintain assigned caseload of students. Collect retention, priority registration activities, course completion, and/or transfer data to report to program and campus administrators and the State Chancellor's Office. Train and coordinate academic and peer advisors with EOPS. Maintain liaison with the Counseling Division and participate in college-wide committees.
Standard duties expected of all counselors include development and evaluation of curricula, maintaining scheduled office hours, attending department and division meetings, pursing professional growth activities, and performing other duties consistent with the role of an instructor. Instructors also have the opportunity to serve on District and college committees and participate in campus extra-curricular activities.

HIRING RANGE: $79,128.39 - $146,897.96 annually plus benefits; actual placement is based on applicant's verified education and experience.
