Summary of Job Duties:

CORD Tutors support student learning by sharing their content knowledge and expertise to help students understand course concepts and apply effective learning strategies in interactive, one-on-one sessions held online and/or in-person. This position requires excellent communication skills and the desire to help students succeed. Tutors must work a minimum of five hours per week on an established schedule.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
• Tutor specific academic subjects to individuals or small groups
• Complete data entry using required database software
• Document and communicate student progress/tutorial notes
• Participate in required tutor training and complete certification process
• Attend staff meetings and trainings
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student with completion of twelve credit hours at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville before job start

  • Demonstrated success with a grade of A in the course to be tutored

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.25

  • Ability to tutor at least one high-need course as determined by Tutoring Progam

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

  • One semester of experience as a tutor

  • Ability to tutor multiple courses

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of disciplines as demonstrated in required course grades

  • Knowledge of video conferencing and email systems

  • Skilled in interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Skilled in conducting online and in-person meetings and sessions

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and troubleshoot appointment issues when necessary 

  • Ability to demonstrate a positive work ethic

Graduate students are subject to a background check.

Salary Information:


$13.00 per hour
